Omega 3/6/9 is a food supplement of polyunsaturated fatty acids from the Omega-3 (EPA, DHA), Omega-6 (GLA, linoleic acid) and Omega-9 (oleic acid) series. Omega-3 are long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids present in fish oil (which oily fish is rich in). Borage oil rich in an unsaturated fatty acid known as GLA (gamma linoleic acid, from the Omega-6 family) is extracted from the Borago officinalis plant. Borago officinalis contributes to the integrity and functionality of cell membranes. Oleic acid (from the Omega-9 series) is an unsaturated fatty acid and helps maintain normal cholesterol levels in the blood. Vitamin E is important for protecting unsaturated fatty acids from oxidation.
